Iconic supermodel and actress Brooke Shields said a doctor performed vaginal surgery on her without her consent.
She shared the shocking revelation in her new memoir, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed To Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman,” which is slated for release Jan. 14, according to Us Weekly. Shields wrote in her memoir that she was traumatized after discovering that a trusted medical professional took it upon himself to perform an unauthorized procedure while she was in his care for an unrelated surgery.
Her story was deeply personal, and she noted it may be “too graphic or simply TMI, as some generations still call it.” Shields went on to explain she went in for a surgical labia reduction and said she ended up undergoing an unwanted vaginal tightening procedure.

“I’d be lying if I said I’m not embarrassed to share this very intimate information,” Shields wrote in her memoir, according to Us Weekly.
“But, if we are to change the way we approach and talk about women’s health, then we need to bring up the uncomfortable but very real issues. Shame is no longer an option,” she continued.
Shields detailed the unwanted vaginal rejuvenation procedure she said she endured when she was in her 40s.
She revealed that she suffered from bleeding and chafing due to the length of her labia, and her gynecologist advised that she undergo reduction surgery.
“Of course, it’s not covered by insurance because it’s considered cosmetic, which is very interesting. The last time I did check, I did not want to be a porn star,” Shields quipped.

Shields went on to tell Us Weekly that she discovered the Beverly Hills plastic surgeon had performed the unwanted surgery during a shocking post-op checkup.
“He informed me that he threw in a little bonus,” the model said.
“It felt like such an invasion — such a bizarre, like, rape of some kind,” Shields continued.
She told the outlet that the doctor “legitimately proudly explained to me that he, you know, threw in a little twofer.”
Shields went on to tell the publication that she was “dumbfounded.”
“Nothing pointed toward this need to be tighter or smaller or firmer or younger, especially there,” Shields told Us Weekly.
The actress said both she and her gynecologist were utterly floored to discover what had happened. She said she didn’t want or need the “irreversible” procedure and experienced feelings of “shame” and “anger” as she processed the incident.
Shields admitted she didn’t inform her husband, producer Chris Henchy, about it “for the longest time.”
