She left home and indulged herself. Pei Chung, accused of being a serial diner-and-dasher, has been kicked out of an upscale Williamsburg establishment, as reported exclusively by The Post.
City Sheriff Robert Renzulli spent a considerable amount of time on Tuesday changing the locks on Chung’s $3,500-a-month apartment located at 416 Kent Ave. This eviction came from her landlord, former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer.
“The apartment was empty. There was no young woman there. The eviction was completed,” Renzulli noted.
Chung, who seems to thrive on attention and, maybe, a quick buck, gained notoriety for being arrested over ten times for skipping out on bills for extravagant meals at numerous high-end restaurants.
Disgruntled restaurant staff have alleged that Chung, dressed in designer clothing, pretended to be a food influencer while racking up significant tabs that she had no intention of settling. She would post enticing photos of gourmet dishes on Instagram, presenting herself as if she were paid to do so.
In an extraordinary claim, it was reported that she even suggested trading intimacy for a steak at Peter Luger, as mentioned by an employee at the renowned steakhouse.
Chung’s extravagant eating habits came to a halt when a judge set her bail at $4,500 and sent her to Rikers Island, which isn’t exactly known for its culinary delights. She was also required to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
It seems her frugal tendencies extended even to her living situation. Court records reveal that Chung owed a staggering $40,000 in rent for her studio apartment, where she posted photos showcasing herself in revealing lingerie.
Renzulli remarked that her belongings, including furniture and clothing, remained in her apartment. He mentioned landlords are obligated to retain items for 30 days before they can be discarded, adding, “In principle, landlords can dispose of household items, but in this case, they would probably consult a lawyer before doing anything like that.”
