Brooklyn pizza joint Lucali gets stuck in crossfire of Drake-Kendrick Lamar rap beef

Already considered one of the city’s best pizza joints, the Brooklyn pizzeria exploded in popularity after rapper Kendrick Lamar named it in a new track dissing Drake. Many new fans have joined the pizza shop’s fan base.

Lucari restaurant on Henry Street in Carroll Gardens already has many celebrity fans, including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and even Drake himself. According to Eater New York.

But Lamar’s mention of it in his song “6:16 in LA” propelled the 18-year-old veteran to new heights.

“Even though I have a visa and a tattoo on my passport, I showed up at my Ibiza/Lucari residence in Brooklyn just to make a pizza reservation,” Lamar raps in the song. is a response to an earlier Drake diss track attacking Lamar’s $8.6 million Brooklyn Heights penthouse.

That quick mention was enough to light up Lucali’s Yelp page with a slew of brand new five-star reviews, according to Eater.

The restaurant added that this is no change at all for the popular restaurant, where fans form long lines every day to vie for a table.
