Browns announce Shedeur Sanders' plans for the third preseason game

Cleveland Browns Rookie Quarterback Chedur Sanders Set to Play in Preseason Finale

Chedur Sanders is set to play in the Browns’ preseason finale this Saturday against the Rams.

The rookie quarterback missed last weekend’s matchup against the Eagles due to an oblique injury, but he’s expected to take the field again now. Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed this at a press conference.

Sanders impressed during his debut with the Panthers, completing 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and throwing two touchdowns. However, he’ll actually be the third quarterback for the Browns, following newly appointed starter Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillion Gabriel.

Stefanski remarked, “We play starters in this game. The flow will depend on how it goes, but it’s about 20 to 25 plays. Some players might come out earlier than others, but each player has a separate plan.” It sounds like fans can expect to see the starters in action.

Kenny Pickett, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, is still listed as the backup quarterback for the Browns but likely won’t play in this game.

When asked about his position on the depth chart, Sanders seemed unfazed. “No matter what the situation, I know my time, and I’m always ready,” he said. He also acknowledged that he still has areas to improve, mentioning, “I have not forgotten that. What I’m looking at is more time to cook.” He added, “I’m getting more time to warm up. That’s all.”
