The unusual trend that made waves in the WNBA during the regular season reemerged in the NFL on Sunday, particularly in the game between the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals.
During the second quarter, green adult toys were tossed onto the field from the stands, separate from the players but caught on social media video showing NFL officials picking them up and tossing them aside. It was a rather strange sight.
The Bengals led the game 14-10 at halftime. Both teams were eager for a win to kick off the 2025 season positively.
This trend involving adult toys had been an ongoing story in the WNBA for a few weeks, leading the league to consider legal action against anyone involved in such antics.
“The safety of everyone in our arena remains a top priority. We are collaborating with local and federal law enforcement to take appropriate action against those responsible for this reckless behavior,” an official statement indicated.
Since July, similar incidents have occurred in at least six WNBA games, beginning in Atlanta on July 29 and continuing in various cities since then.
Several arrests were made in connection with the incident, highlighting the mixed reactions and ongoing issues in sports venues involving fan behavior.
