Mary Kay Cabot’s Speech Highlights Bill Belichick’s Romance
During the Pro Football Hall of Fame Gold Jacket Dinner in Canton, Ohio, Mary Kay Cabot made a notable remark regarding Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. This event took place on Friday, and it certainly drew attention given Belichick’s fame.
Cabot, a Browns reporter since 1991—when Belichick started coaching the team—made a light-hearted comment about her early experiences covering him. “Bill Belichick was the first Browns coach I ever featured. You know, if you start with Belichick, it’s hard to get rattled. If he disagrees with something I’ve written, I know he’ll be the first to call and let me know,” she shared, eliciting laughter from the crowd.
As her speech progressed, it shifted towards Belichick’s personal life, particularly focusing on his relationship with Hudson.
“I totally understand now why Bill had issues with me back then,” Cabot continued, humorously noting her age of 28 at the time and pointing out that he had little to no experience with older women, which brought even more laughs from the audience.
While many on social media found Cabot’s comments amusing, not everyone seemed to appreciate the joke.
Hudson later responded on her X account, downplaying the drama by saying that laughing about the situation wasn’t a big deal. She also hinted at the often exaggerated media narratives surrounding them.
The romance between Belichick and Hudson first became public in June 2024. Since then, it has drawn significant media attention, particularly after a rather rocky interview on “CBS Sunday Morning” where Hudson challenged Belichick on how they met.
Amid the chatter about her influence on his life and career, Belichick, the coach with eight Super Bowl wins, made it clear in May that Hudson’s involvement is “not related to UNC football.”
Looking ahead, Belichick and the team are set to face TCU in their season opener on September 1, 2025.
