Bryan Kohberger Files Alibi, Claims He Was Driving To ‘See The Moon And Stars’ During Murders

Brian Koberger, the suspect in the murders of four University of Idaho students, has provided an alibi for the night of the stabbings.

Recent court documents obtained by NBC News and CNNKoberger, 29, claims he was driving in Pullman, Washington, on the night of the murder.

In a filing, his attorneys claim he was driving at night “as he often did to hike, run, and look at the moon and stars.” CNN.

NBC The defense also plans to call expert witnesses to the stand during the trial and use data from Korver’s cell phone from the night of the murder to try to corroborate his alibi.

Koberger is currently awaiting trial on multiple counts of first-degree murder and one felony count of robbery in connection with the deaths of four students who were tragically murdered in the same home.

The victims were identified as Kaylee Gonsalves, 21, Madison Morgen, 21, Zana Karnodol, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20.

Investigators used DNA evidence found in a knife sheath left at the scene on the bed where Morgen and Gonsalves were found dead, according to a probable cause affidavit. They are linking him to the murder case.

The affidavit alleges that while investigating Koberger’s previous phone ringtones, authorities discovered at least 12 calls prior to Nov. 13.thIn 2022, a cell phone linked to him rang near the residence at 1122 King Road where the murder occurred.

Koberger has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and his trial was originally scheduled for October 2nd.n.d.. However, the trial was postponed after the 29-year-old suspect waived his right to a speedy trial.

A new trial date has not yet been set, but if convicted, Koberger faces the death penalty.
