Bryson DeChambeau working to return to the PGA Tour: Brandel Chamblee

Bryson DeChambeau’s Potential Return to PGA Tour

It seems like Bryson DeChambeau, the two-time U.S. Open champion, might be gearing up to come back to the PGA Tour.

Recently, Golf Channel analyst and ex-PGA pro Brandel Chamblee shared his take on DeChambeau’s future in the PGA scene, discussing how his performance has dipped since he joined LIV four years back.

“The LIV situation is, well, it’s in a bit of upheaval. I think it’s clear that Bryson’s mind might be partially focused on finding his way back to the PGA Tour. That’s just the vibe I’m getting,” Chamblee noted, adding that he’s been pretty critical of LIV. There’s a lot of chatter about it among insiders, he remarked.

“You know, being in this state of uncertainty must be affecting many players’ games negatively. We had seen a noticeable drop-off in performance even before players made the leap to LIV,” he pointed out.

“Right now, Bryson seems to be in a lot of turmoil. He invested heavily in LIV, and it seems to be floundering now. It raises questions about what his situation will look like as next year rolls around,” he added.

Having joined LIV Golf supported by Saudi funding in 2022, things have taken a worrying turn lately for the tour.

The Public Investment Fund from Saudi Arabia is expected to stop its financial backing by season’s end, but the urgency appears to be greater than that. Just this week, CEO Scott O’Neill was evasive when asked if the last four events on the LIV 2026 calendar would actually happen.

DeChambeau recently missed qualifying for both the Masters and the PGA Championship. He hasn’t seemed too happy with his game lately.

That said, he did manage to clinch two wins on the LIV Tour and nearly scored another victory in Korea just last week.

Next week, he’ll be in the spotlight again for the U.S. Open, taking place at Shinnecock on Long Island’s eastern tip.
