Current US Open Champion Bryson DeChambeau begins the season Where no other current major winner has gone before:
India.
DeChambeau has officially committed to participate in the International Series India hosted by DLF. The first round will begin on January 30, one week before LIV Golf's 2025 season opens in Saudi Arabia.
The reigning major champion never played in India the year after his victory, making DeChambeau's appearance a monumental event. His victory at No. 2 Pinehurst and a rapidly growing YouTube fandom made him one of the most popular golfers in the world. DeChambeau's visit to and play in India speaks volumes about his desire to grow the game in other parts of the world. This shows how much the game continues to grow in India.
The DP World Tour has included the Hero Indian Open in its schedule since 2015. Since then, Anirban Lahiri, Matt Wallace and Marcel Siem have won the event.
However, the International Series India will gain even more attention in 2025 thanks to DeChambeau's presence. Lahiri, who currently plays for DeChambeau's Crushers GC team, will join DeChambeau at DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram. In fact, the course has hosted the last five Hero India Opens, but the course is yet to be scheduled for the 2025 edition.
As for the International Series, this 10-event set has gained attention in recent years thanks to significant financial support from the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which also supports LIV Golf. These high-end events are scattered across the Middle East and Asia, and will also be held in Macau, Hong Kong, and Morocco in 2025. Asian Tour players who win the International Series by the end of the year will earn direct entry to the LIV Golf Circuit to play the following matches: year.
