Buc-ee's plans to open in six new states as part of a significant expansion across the US

Buc-ee’s Expansion Plans for 2026 and Beyond

By the end of next year, at least six states are set to welcome their very first Buc-ee’s locations, with two of them expected to open in just a few months in 2026.

This well-known Texas gas station chain, famous for its expansive travel plazas featuring clean bathrooms and beaver-themed merchandise, will be adding stores in Arizona and Arkansas later this year.

Next year, Buc-ee’s will also be making its debut in Wisconsin, Louisiana, Kansas, and North Carolina.

Currently, the company has 55 stores spread across 12 states, but with this planned expansion, Buc-ee’s is gearing up to reach a total of 20 states.

In Arizona, the first Buc-ee’s is set to open in Goodyear on June 22nd. It’s going to be a huge site—74,000 square feet—with 120 fueling stations, conveniently located near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue.

Similarly, a new store is planned in Benton, Arkansas, with the grand opening anticipated for early to mid-August, as noted by Bill Eldridge, chairman of the Benton Advertising and Promotions Commission.

In Wisconsin, the first Buc-ee’s store will open in Oak Creek, projected for early 2027 at the southwest corner of Interstate 94 and Elm Road. This travel center will also feature 120 gas pumps and cover about 73,370 square feet.

Meanwhile, the city of Ruston in Louisiana aims for its first Buc-ee’s store to launch by mid-2027. It’s going to be quite spacious, over 70,000 square feet, with more than 100 fuel pumps located at the intersection of Interstate 20 and Tarbutton Road.

Kansas City is also in line for its first Buc-ee’s, expected to open next year. The new location will be 74,000 square feet and is planned near Interstate 70 and West Village Parkway by 2027.

North Carolina will see its first Buc-ee’s store in Mebane as part of the chain’s expansion into the Southeast. Scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027, this store marks an exciting development for local travelers.

Overall, Buc-ee’s expansion will not only introduce the beloved Beaver-branded mega travel centers to these six new states but will also introduce additional sites in states where they already operate.

In Texas, the 37th Buc-ee’s will be opening in San Marcos this July, as reported by the Austin American-Statesman. Also on the horizon is a new travel center in Monroe County, Georgia, set to open next year, as well as locations planned in Lafayette, Louisiana; St. Lucie and Tallahassee, Florida; Gallaway, Tennessee; and Fayette County, Arkansas.

Lastly, Buc-ee’s is also planning to establish a location in Oak Grove, Kentucky, post-2027, while the opening in West Memphis has been rescheduled for June 2028, according to local news.
