The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a massive announcement on Thursday, saying they would be reviving former head coach John Gruden's Ring of Honor spot.
Gruden was removed in 2021 after resigning from his position as head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders after multiple reports of emails with racist, homophobic and misogynistic languages.
Since then, Gruden's only position in the league has been as a consultant with the saints of New Orleans. He then became a member of the media, launched his own YouTube channel and recently joined Barstool Sports.

However, the Buccaneers are experiencing a change in their minds and they have issued a statement about their decision.
“John Gruden was initially led by the Buccaneers circle based on many accomplishments over our seven seasons as head coach and remains a key figure in the history of the franchise,” the team's statement read.
“To further reflect, we decided to revive him in the Buccaneers Ring of Honor.”
Raiders owner Mark Davis says he will retreat John Gruden's resignation-setting organization: “His head has been chopped up.”
Gruden's tenure as Tampa Bay's head coach in 2000-08 featured the organization's first Vince Lombardi Trophy, which won the Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003.
The Bucs were 57-55 in the regular season and 3-2 in the playoffs during their seven seasons with the team.

Raiders owner Mark Davis recently commented on Gruden's resignation in 2021.
Davis said he believes Gruden's departure will bring the organization back considerably.
“He was the guy I brought in and I really hoped he would be that guy on the football side that would bring stability to the organization,” Davis told media members later last month when introducing Pete Carroll as the Raiders' new head coach. “He had a 10-year contract – and his head was chopped up.”
Gruden, who is suing the NFL, leaked his email. He used some rogical statements from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA executive director Demauris Smith.

But Gruden now tries to stay in the game as much as he can with his media gig. It appears that the Buccaneers are making Bygon bygon.
