Buck takes swing at ‘Moscow Marjorie’: She is just ‘mouthing the Russian propaganda’

Former Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) took aim at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) for her anti-Ukraine stance in an interview on CNN on Friday.

“Marjorie in Moscow has reached new lows,” Buck said. Said He spoke in an interview with anchor Erica Hill on CNN’s “Erin Burnett Outfront.” She said, “During the Russian Revolution, [Bolshevik Revolution leader Vladimir] Lenin spoke of American journalists who were writing glowing reports about Russia at the time as “useful fools.” ”

“And I don’t think Marjorie even rises to the point of being a useful idiot here,” Buck continued. “She’s just feeding off Russian propaganda, and she’s doing great damage to American foreign policy in the process.”

During Wednesday’s House Oversight Committee meeting, Greene highlighted a news article and displayed a photo purportedly showing neo-Nazis in Ukraine. She raised concerns that discussing “Nazis in Ukraine and their recruitment efforts around the world” would be considered misinformation.

In late March, Greene also filed a motion calling for current House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) to resign. claimed On Thursday, during an appearance on former White House aide Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, she spoke out against foreign aid, saying she wants “an ‘America first’ economy” and “we’re going to put it in the Republican Party.” I will make demands of the leadership.”

“I don’t care if the Speaker’s office becomes a revolving door,” continued Greene, who introduced the motion to remove Johnson from his current position. “If that’s exactly what should happen, then let it be. But the days of the old Republican Party trying to stab the American people in the face while funding foreign wars and killing people abroad are over. I did.”

The House of Representatives passed a bill Friday that would send aid to Ukraine alongside other U.S. allies. The House of Representatives voted 316-94 in favor of the foreign aid rules, allowing consideration of four bills that bundle military aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, along with humanitarian aid to Gaza and other conflict zones. Ta.

This isn’t the first time Buck has referred to Greene as “Moscow Marjorie.” The Colorado Republican coined the nickname earlier this month after objecting to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) assessment of Taylor Greene as a “very serious congressman.”

“In my experience with Marjorie, people consult her about not filing articles of impeachment before President Biden is sworn into office, and about not filing unsubstantiated articles of impeachment against other individuals in the Biden administration.” I did,” he told Erin. Burnett said in a separate CNN interview.

“And she was never moved by that. She was always focused on her social media accounts,” Ms. Buck continued. “And Moscow Marjorie is now focusing on this Ukraine issue, trying to get some buzz out of the Kremlin and make sure that her popularity increases and that she gets a lot of coverage.”

The Hill has reached out to Greene’s office.
