When Bud Light decided to partner with social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney, sales of Anheuser-Busch naturally plummeted.
This is why Seth Weathers set up his conservative father, Ultra Lid Beer Company, and his goal was to make drinks that won't awaken ideology. However, his company is currently being sued. It simply means that the name contains the word “ultra.”
Anheuser-Busch argues that the reason for the lawsuit is that this could be “confusing.”

“I understand a bit,” she continues, “Is something that can confuse you about your beer? It's called “Ultra Light.” ” she continues.
“The reality is,” explains Weathers.
“What we submitted to the trademark is the full phrase “ultra rights of a conservative father.” They say it can be confused with the trademark of one of the other brands, Michelob Ultra,” he says.
“I can assure you, no one will confuse our beer with what's in their cans,” he continues, adding that they know this is not a winning case.”
However, winning may not be a point. It may be years before they go to trial, and there are many jobs that need to be done with lawyers in the meantime.
“Their goal is for us to dry out financially. They wanted to be as far away as possible from scandal, so there's a certain amount of time you can oppose our trademark, so they waited until the very end you could submit, and then submitted the permitted extension,” he explains.
“And they were waiting for them to actually submit their case until the last day of the extension,” he continued, “they wanted people to forget that and forget us, and it would just go under the radar.”
