Burger King patrons can get their Whoppers redone with new policy

Burger King is making a move to please picky eaters by vowing to revamp the unsatisfactory Whopper, among other incentives, as part of a fresh campaign focused on customer feedback.

Back in February, the fast-food chain invited customers to provide their genuine thoughts through a listening initiative, prominently featuring the contact number of Tom Curtis, who is the president of Burger King U.S. and Canada. This initiative has sparked significant engagement, with many calls and texts urging Curtis to take action based on the feedback shared.

In response to this wave of communication, the corporate team at Burger King was inundated with suggestions and critiques, compelling them to take the input seriously.

According to Curtis, when they reached out for feedback on how to improve, the customers did not hold back. “Now it’s our responsibility to act on it,” he stated.

To address these concerns, Burger King has introduced a new role called the ‘Your Way Champion’. This position seems akin to a manager who ensures that orders meet customer specifications and rectifies issues as they arise.

Additionally, the company is launching the Whopper Guarantee. If customers aren’t happy with their Whopper, not only will they get a remake right away, but they will also receive their next Whopper for free.

The initiatives of both the Whopper Discussion and the Your Way Champion were featured in a 60-second advertisement titled “We will help you.”

“We know we’re not going to get everything right every time, but we’re dedicated to listening closely and striving for constant improvement,” Curtis committed. “When our guests choose us, they want quality food, made to their exact preferences, and a responsive team ready to assist.”

These measures are part of Burger King’s newly launched campaign “There’s A New King And It’s You,” which made its debut during an ad space in the Oscars back in March. It shifts the brand’s focus more towards customer preferences rather than the polarizing mascot they’ve had for years.

This newly simplified, guest-oriented approach is reportedly helping Burger King improve its standing in the competitive fast-food landscape. The company recently saw an uptick in comparable sales, recording a 5.8% increase in the first quarter, marking a reversal from a previous decline.

This shift comes amid growing criticism of multinational fast-food corporations for prioritizing profits over quality, which has allowed smaller, local burger shops to gain traction. Notably, chains like Whataburger and Culver’s are experiencing significant growth, contrasted with larger players like McDonald’s and Wendy’s, which seem to be less favored by consumers these days.

In 2025, California’s In-N-Out recorded a noteworthy sales increase of around 10%, further illustrating the competitive dynamics at play in the burger market.
