Police Investigate High-Value Jewelry Theft in Queens

New York City authorities are on the lookout for three suspects involved in a burglary that netted over $3 million in jewelry. The incident reportedly took place last Thursday around 2:20 p.m. in a home in Queens.

According to the NYPD, surveillance footage shows the men breaking into the home by forcing open the back door before escaping in a blue Hyundai Elantra. Two of the assailants were dressed as construction workers, complete with vests, masks, and black clothing. The third individual, who acted as the driver, was noted for wearing a white hoodie along with black pants and gloves.

Fortunately, no one was in the house during the robbery, and there were no reported injuries.

In a separate incident, the Seattle Police Chief was reportedly dining nearby while a jewelry store heist worth $2 million unfolded just blocks away.

Authorities urge anyone with potential information regarding the suspects to reach out to NYPD’s Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers. Tips can also be submitted online or via @NYPDTips on social media.

Interestingly, this case comes on the heels of political events in the district, where Democratic mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani recently hosted a rally at Forest Hills Stadium, attended by prominent figures like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Mamdani is leading in the latest polls for the upcoming New York mayoral race, while former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, running as an independent, has been gaining ground. In contrast, Republican Curtis Sliwa seems to be trailing significantly behind both candidates.
