Former Knicks Guard Butch Carter joined the lawsuit accusing former Indiana men's basketball doctor Dr. Bradford Bomba of sexual abuse.
Carter became the fifth former Hoosiers player to file his claim in the sworn testimony filed Thursday.
The former Indiana captain claims in 1979 Bomba “woman wearing gloves, lubricating his fingers and telling Carter to bend over the table.”
Carter, now 66, complained to then-coach Bobby Knight and trainers Bob Young and George Taliaferro.
His previous body at IU was carried out by Dr. Robert Miller.
“I never had the experience of Dr. Bomba Senior, before other doctors had done a rectal examination on me, including at high school,” Carter said in his testimony. “Dr. Miller never penetrated my anus with his fingers during my previous physical examination with him at IU.”
When Carter tells Knight he doesn't want to see Bomba for medical care anymore. Coach Sally told him He “was intended to take his body off.”
Despite multiple complaints about Bomba, Carter said he was unaware of the actions that were taken.
The 88-year-old Bomba was sitting for a deposit on December 4th. He called his fifth amendment more than 45 times..
Carter's account will be joined by John Flower, Harris Mujezinovich, Charlie Miller and Larry Richardson Jr., with current men's basketball trainer Tim Girl and the Indiana University Board of Trustees as defendants.
Carter played for Indiana from 1976-80 before being drafted by the Lakers in the second round of the 1980 NBA Draft. The Ohio State native played in the league for six years, including three games against the Indiana Pacers from 1984-86 and 74 games with the Knicks.
In 1992 he joined the NBA coaching ranks and began as an assistant for the Milwaukee Bucks before joining the Toronto Raptors staff in 1997-98. In his second season with the team, he was appointed interim head coach and led the team throughout the 1999-2000 season.
