Police are investigating an incident that was caught on video in which BYU cheerleading coach Jocelyn Allan was hit in the head by a water bottle thrown by a fan after Saturday's game against Utah.

Alan took to Instagram to explain his ordeal, saying he “blacked out” during the incident.
“At the end of tonight's BYU vs. Utah game, a Utah fan sitting at a table in the south end zone threw a water bottle and hit me in the head,” Alan wrote on the social media platform.
“I lost consciousness, but thankfully I was pushed to the ground by one of the cheerleaders. Police are examining the video footage to determine which seat the sound came from (they have a pretty good idea) ). After a 22-21 home loss to Utah's rival BYU, Utah fans threw debris onto the field.
“The incident is still under investigation and we will not be commenting further at this time,” a BYU spokesperson told the Deseret News.
