Caitlin Clark and Rhyne Howard have a conversation as the Fever beat the Dream in a WNBA game.

Intense Clash Between Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream

The atmosphere was charged on Thursday night as the Indiana Fever faced off against the Atlanta Dream. It was clear that tension lingered from earlier incidents, stretching right up to the game’s final seconds.

Within the first half-minute of the opening quarter, Caitlin Clark and Rhyne Howard exchanged some heated words. Howard was closely guarding Clark, who was navigating down the court.

During the play, the two seemed to get physical, arms flailing. Clark tried to back away, but before she could distance herself, a teammate of Howard’s intervened, pulling her away from the situation.

Clark, unfazed, appeared to mutter, “I’m not scared of you,” while her teammates rallied beside her.

Interestingly, amid the shaky moments on the court, there was a lighter interaction earlier this month in preseason that sparked laughter from Clark.

Despite a rather challenging night, Clark contributed only six points in the fourth quarter, which, to be honest, was a bit unexpected. Just two nights earlier, she had tallied 27 points against Atlanta.

The Fever held a narrow 75-71 lead with just over two minutes left but faltered toward the end, finishing with a disappointing 10-1 run against them. Clark managed to squeeze out five additional points in the fourth, wrapping up with a total of 11 for the game. Natasha Howard led her team with 26 points, while Leanne Howard followed closely with 24.

This altercation between Clark and Howard came just five days after a similar incident involving Clark and Angel Rees. Following that, Rees shared her frustrations about feeling unsafe after receiving unacceptable remarks from fans.

Next up, the Fever will compete against the reigning WNBA champion New York Liberty on Saturday in Indianapolis at 1 PM.
