Lakers’ Tough Night Marks Praise for Doncic

The Lakers had a rough time on Sunday night, leading to a disappointing 112-100 loss against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. But amidst the team’s struggles, one of their standout players received some uplifting recognition.

Just moments before the game, Luka Doncic garnered compliments from Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever, who was making her debut as a special contributor on NBC’s “Sunday Night Basketball” pregame show.

When asked about an NBA player she looks up to, Clark didn’t hesitate to mention Doncic. “Luka is amazing,” she expressed. “He’s not just a scorer; he’s also a great passer.”

She further highlighted Doncic’s ability to outsmart defenders, despite admitting he might not be the speediest or most athletic player out there. “I think that’s something I can definitely learn from,” Clark noted. “I tend to want to evade the defense rather than embracing contact and utilizing the spaces they give me.”

Shortly after the praise, Doncic put on a solid performance, accumulating 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists during his time on the court. Yet, the Lakers have now faced two losses in their last three matches, and they’ll be looking to bounce back against the Nets on the road next Tuesday.
