Caitlin Clark Continue to Fuel Blockbuster Ratings for WNBA

Despite constant verbal and physical attacks, WNBA star Caitlin Clark continues to draw some of the highest ratings in the league’s history.

Clark’s Indiana Fever-Chicago Sky rivalry game averaged 2.25 million viewers, the largest attendance ever for a WNBA game, and peaked with nearly 3 million viewers. Front Office Sports I will report.

“The Indiana Fever’s 91-83 victory over the Chicago Sky on Sunday was the league’s most-watched game in more than two decades.” Daily Mail“This highly anticipated matchup averaged 2.25 million viewers, a 225% increase over last season’s average game.”

The last time the Indiana and Illinois teams met, 1.53 million people watched the game, a notable attendance figure considering it was played on a weekday at noon.

But that’s just the tip of Clark’s hat. She’s already been the star of every game that has broken the league’s attendance and ratings records this year. Her games have broken records everywhere, including ESPN2, ABC, ESPN, Ion and NBA TV.

As television viewership increased, WNBA arena attendance also soared, up to 94% capacity for some games.

The stage was set from her league debut, with a reported attendance of 13,028 in May, more than three times the number of fans that had attended an Indiana Fever game in previous years.

Clarke had already broken league records in points and other metrics within a matter of weeks.

Clark is by far the most popular player in the WNBA, but her star power is also drawing fans to other members of this year’s WNBA rookie team, including Nika Muhl, Kate Martin and Angel Reese.
