Caitlin Clark has already made friends in Indiana.
The WNBA No. 1 overall draft pick and her Fever teammates posed for a photo Wednesday night, and during the event, two of Clark’s teammates lent her a chain to wear during… de-escalation moments. It was given to me.
In a video posted to X, Fever gave a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot, with both Erica Wheeler and Narissa Smith giving Clark a chain to wear.
Clark was all smiles wearing both the number 1 and 17 chains, and even playfully munched on Smith’s jewellery.
At that moment, Clark and his teammates smiled and laughed, and Clark apologized for biting him.
Smith reposted the video to her Instagram Story, adding four crying-laughing emojis.

Wheeler did the same with his story, also adding a selfie taken with Clark and a group shot of some of the Indiana team posing in the middle of an Indianapolis street.
After enjoying some good time off the court, Clark and Indiana will be hoping for better time on the court this season.
The Fever finished 13-27 this year, but brought in Clark, the all-time leading scorer in Division I basketball (women’s and men’s), after a prolific career at Iowa.
Her presence in the league has sparked interest and ticket sales are already booming. StubHub announced on Wednesday The company announced that WNBA ticket sales were up 93% compared to this time last year.
The company said Fever sales have “jumped 13x” since Clark was selected in the WNBA draft.
Clark said earlier this week that he was ready to get things started on the court. Play begins Friday with a preseason game against the Wings and begins in earnest on May 14 when the Fever take on the Sun in the regular season opener.
“No matter what happens, there’s going to be expectations and pressure on my shoulders and pressure that this team has to be really good. That’s what you want,” according to the Associated Press , Clark said Monday. “We don’t want anything else. We want people to come to our games and we want people to come to our games and expect us to win a lot of basketball games this year. I expect myself to play really well. I don’t think that’s any different for me.”
