Caitlin Clark is still out with a groin injury for the Fever-Aces match.

The Indiana Fever, fresh off their recent victory in the Commissioners Cup, is gearing up for a game against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday night, but the team will be without guard Kate Rinklerk. This absence comes as the Fever head coach, Stephanie White, discussed the precautions being taken for Clark’s well-being, especially after her long-standing injury troubles.

During a media briefing on Wednesday, which followed the Fever’s win against the Minnesota Lynx, White was clear about the team’s focus on ensuring Clark’s complete recovery. She emphasized, “It’s crucial that she feels 100% ready, and we’re thinking long-term here.” With just a few games remaining before the All-Star break, it’s clear that both the coach and the player are eager for her return.

Clark, who has a history of consistent play throughout her college career and the previous WNBA season, has faced setbacks this sophomore year, missing several games due to quadriceps injuries. After managing to play in five games, she struggled with her performance before facing another injury. Coach White recognized Clark’s eagerness to get back on the court, noting how much she wants to play. “She’s putting in the effort to come back, but we also have to be mindful of the bigger picture,” White added.

This season, Clark has been averaging impressive stats with 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.9 assists. The excitement is building for the upcoming All-Star Game scheduled to be held in Indiana on July 19th, bringing attention to both the Fever’s current form and Clark’s hopeful return.
