Kate Linklark’s Continued Absence Due to Injury
Kate Linklark is set to miss her fifth consecutive game due to a groin injury as the Indiana Fever prepare to face the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday. Her name appears on the team’s injury report ahead of the matchup.
Since her last game against the Sparks on June 26, the Fever have struggled, losing 85-75. This marks the ninth game she has missed this season and the tenth overall, factoring in the Commissioner’s Cup final. Earlier in the season, she had to exit five games prematurely due to her injury.
Interestingly, throughout her professional and college career, Clark had never missed a game until this season. Fever head coach Stephanie White mentioned on Friday that Clark had been going through some drills but wasn’t quite back to full speed. There’s a plan to reevaluate her on Saturday morning, which might give some fans a glimmer of hope, though it seems uncertain.
This season, Clark has been putting up some impressive stats, averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists, and five rebounds per game. The Fever, on a bit of a roll with a 9-8 record and four wins in their last five games, will certainly feel her absence against the Sparks.
