Caitlin Clark receives graduation surprise from Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever celebrated Caitlin Clark’s college graduation Sunday before the start of training camp practice, as the rookie guard prepares to make her long-awaited WNBA regular season debut on Tuesday.

According to an Instagram video posted on the Fever’s page, Clark, who was unable to graduate from Iowa State on Saturday, was presented with his “graduation certificate” at a surprise celebration as teammates and officials cheered. It is said that it was awarded.

Clark ended her prolific career at Iowa in April, when she and the Hawkeyes lost 87-75 to the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks in the NCAA title game.

Later that month, the NCAA’s all-time Division I leading scorer was selected No. 1 overall by the Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Clark got off to an explosive start in the preseason, sinking a deep 3-pointer for his first professional basket in Indiana University’s 79-76 loss to the Dallas Wings on May 3.

She scored 12 points a few days later in Indiana’s 83-80 home victory over the Atlanta Dream.

Clark and the Fever opened the season on the road against Connecticut on Tuesday, and the Sun sold out 8,910 tickets for its first opener in decades. ESPN reported Monday.

Her home debut is scheduled for Thursday against New York Liberty, and the 22-year-old is eager to improve her form.

“We have to go out and compete every night. If one night isn’t good for us, we have an opportunity to come back a few days later and respond,” Clark said last week. “I think this group is ready (for the regular season) and everyone is excited.”

Clark isn’t the only newcomer. The person who received a sweet graduation reward From her new WNBA club.

The Seattle Storm held a makeshift ceremony over the weekend to honor former Union University guard Nika Muhl.

Mule was selected by the Storm with the 14th overall pick in the second round of this year’s WNBA Draft.
