Caitlin Clark reflects on rookie season in emotional Instagram post

Caitlin Clark gave a final look back at her rookie season in an Instagram post Wednesday night.

The rookie took the WNBA by storm, pushing the league to new heights while at times serving as a lightning rod for controversy.

“I was able to realize my childhood dream thanks to the many people who supported me. Looking back on this past year, I am filled with gratitude. I will meet again in my second year. Now,” she wrote.

Clark led his team to the playoffs for the first time in seven years and set numerous WNBA and Indiana Fever franchise records.

Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game during the regular season.

She set numerous WNBA records, including assists in a season (337) and in a game (19), as well as rookie records for points (769), assists, 3-pointers (122) and triple doubles (2). did.

In the final game of the season, a loss to the Connecticut Sun in Game 2 of the playoffs, Clark scored a game-high 25 points on 10-of-23 shooting.

She was named the Associated Press Rookie of the Year for her on-court play and was named to the AP All-WNBA First Team.

Clark joins Aliyah Boston as the only Fever players to earn AP Rookie of the Year honors.

Clark had many wild moments on the court, but the one she remembers most on “60 Minutes” was when she burst her eardrum on a hard screen early in the game against Liberty.

“I think that speaks to the physicality of the league,” Clark said. “It’s probably more memorable that way.”
