Indiana Fever Tops Seattle Storm Despite Clark’s Shooting Struggles
Kate Clark faced some difficulties on Tuesday night as the Indiana Fever edged past the Seattle Storm with a score of 94-86. Clark managed to score just six points, marking one of her less successful shooting performances since last September, when she recorded eight points against the Washington Mystics. Her previous low was three points against the New York Liberty last June.
In the game against the Storm, Clark shot three-of-nine from the floor, contributing with nine assists, three steals, and two rebounds. She attempted six three-pointers but unfortunately missed all of them. After the match, she had only managed to secure one win since their defeat to the Golden State Valkyries last Thursday.
Teammate Lexi Hull assured reporters, “She’s fine. We’re not worried about that. She’s a great shooter and player. These kinds of slumps happen to everyone, even the best.” Hull’s comments reflect a common understanding that even top athletes can go through rough patches.
Meanwhile, Ariya Boston stood out for the Fever with an impressive performance, scoring 31 points along with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Veteran Kelsey Mitchell contributed 26 points, while Hal added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Fever needed every basket to overcome the Storm’s recent success, as Seattle had won three straight games and six of its last seven. Skylar Diggins led the Storm with 22 points and six assists, while Erica Wheeler scored 20 points.
With this victory, the Fever improved to 7-7, bringing them back to .500, while the Storm fell to 9-6.
