Chennedy Carter’s flagrant foul in the game Indiana Fever Caitlin Clarke spoke to reporters on Friday, suggesting last week’s events were business as usual.
Talk in advance Fever beat Washington Mystics Clark was asked whether she felt she deserved a public apology from Carter for the incident, which has sparked debate over her treatment in the WNBA.

“No, basketball is competitive. I get that,” Clark said. “Sometimes emotions get the better of you. It’s happened a lot of times throughout my career. You compete. That’s the reality.”

“She’s having a great season,” Clark said of Carter. “In my eyes, she’s playing great basketball and is probably deserving of first place player of the year. She came off the bench and did a great job. She scored 25 points.” [points] Coming in here last night really helped us win the game.”
Clark scored a career-high 30 points to help the Fever beat the Washington Mystics 85-83. NBA-sized crowdShe said her focus is on the team.
“That’s not my focus. That’s not what I think about day to day. I think about the team. I think about how I can get better.”

““At the end of the day, it’s just basketball,” she continued. “There’s no hard feelings. Basketball is a sport, it’s a competition. You don’t always have good games. That’s not what basketball is about. I think the people who play at the highest level understand that.”
Carter was fouled in last weekend’s game for taking Clark to the floor before an inbounds pass, a foul that the WNBA eventually upgraded to a Flagrant 1 foul.

Carter did not answer the question. She commented on Clark after the game but then criticized the rookie on social media.
