Marion County prosecutors have charged Texas man Michael Thomas Lewis with a felony count of stalking for allegedly sending threatening and sexually violent messages to Fever star Caitlin Clark. Court documents reported by local media in Indiana.
Lewis traveled to Indianapolis from Texas and was arrested Sunday at a hotel in the 100 block of North Market Street. WISHTV.com reported.
Indianapolis police met with Lewis on Wednesday to talk about the messages, but Lewis said his relationship with Clark was “imaginary.”

Messages from Lewis' IP address continued to be sent to Clark after the police visit.
The scope of the message is unknown.
Prosecutors said investigators were able to determine that Lewis was at a downtown Indianapolis hotel from messages sent from his IP address.
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears praised Clark and Pacers Sports & Entertainment in a press release following his arrest.

“No matter how high-profile a person is, this incident shows that online harassment can quickly escalate into actual threats of physical violence,” Mears said. “It takes a lot of courage for a woman to come forward in a case like this, which is why so many people don’t come forward. By doing so, the victims are protected from the threat of sexual violence and their ability to live and work in Indy.” She is setting an example for all women.
“We commend Pacers Sports & Entertainment and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for their swift and serious actions that led to this weekend’s arrest.”
