Every time Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese faced off on the basketball court, it was must-see television.
Reese and her LSU team beat Clark and Iowa in the 2023 national championship game before Clark knocked LSU out of the tournament this year. Clark and the Indiana Fever have already beaten Reese and the Chicago Sky twice this WNBA season, with Reese being called for a flagrant foul against Clark in the latter matchup.

After the match, Clark was asked why people would watch her and Reese play.
“I think it’s really great what she’s been able to do with her platform,” Clark said. “She has a fan base that has been rooting for her at Maryland and then Louisiana State. Obviously, I’ve played against her for a long time and she’s a great player. She’s fun to play against. I think this is really good for the sport.”

“People love to see great matchups, but at the same time, people get to watch these matchups and see how great these teams are. And then they find new players to root for and they come back for them. I think that’s another benefit of the show.”
The foul from Reese to Clark was the talk of the sports world all Sunday, a game the Fever won 91-83.
“You can’t control the refereeing and obviously the game tonight was heavily affected by it,” Rees said. “We’ll probably play this footage 20 times before Monday.”

“I think we went really strong a few times and we just didn’t get a lot of calls,” she added. “Looking back, there were a lot of things that just weren’t called. I think some people deserve a special whistle.”
