Injury Update on Indiana Fever Star
The Indiana Fever’s standout player is missing her second consecutive game due to a groin injury sustained during a recent match against the Dallas Wings. This marks her seventh absence of the season.
Before their game against the Wings, the Fever released an update on her condition. Interestingly, this will be the first time the team faces the top pick from the 2025 WNBA draft, Paige Bueckers.
WNBA Rookie of the Year, Caitlin Clark, was also ruled out for a previous game against the Las Vegas Aces due to the same groin injury. Clark’s absence continues her streak of missed games after initially sitting out five due to a quad injury following a loss to the New York Liberty.
Without Clark, the Fever recorded a 2-3 record. She made quite the comeback from injury, scoring a high of 32 points in one game and then contributing 20 points, six assists, and hitting four three-pointers in another.
Despite her talent, Clark has faced some criticism lately due to a drop in her shooting performance. “There are good stretches and, well, not so good stretches,” she mentioned earlier this week. “It’s frustrating; I want to find my rhythm again. There were moments where I felt really good about my shots.”
Clark’s recent performance against the Seattle Storm was also underwhelming, with only six points scored and a dismal shooting record of 0-for-6 from the three-point range. In fact, she has only made one out of her last 23 attempts beyond the arc.
