WNBA star Kate Rinklark is one of the nation's largest female athletes, but one sports agent says she never pays anything that really makes the league worth it.
According to Fox News, Clark won a four-year contract of $338,000, averaged $84,500 a year, signed on to play in a rookie year with strengths. By 2028, she will already become a restricted free agent.
The WNBA is even considering expanding by adding at least three teams over the next few seasons. Clark has or is related by paying more attention to women's basketball.
But Erin Kane of Excel Sports Management says Clark is far more valuable than the league pays her.
“She's part of the body of a bigger player. They all need to be paid more. She should be aware of what she's done and what she's brought to the league from a financial standpoint. That's just as easy,” Kane said. ESPN.
Still, Clark might be there for a salary increase. The Women's National Basketball Players Association is threatening strikes unless the league raises its salary. The union is warning that work will be suspended this year if the WNBA does not acquiesce their requests.
Despite this, the WNBA is not yet a woman's money-making man for women's sports. For example, the league is reported for the 2024 season. Lost Even the excitement Caitlin Clark brought to the game was about $40 million. But it's not new. The league has never made a profit since its inception.
If the NBA wasn't putting money into women's professional basketball, it probably wouldn't exist.
