Caitlin Clark’s Update on Quad Injury
Caitlin Clark is facing a two-week timeline for her quad injury, with no sign of an early return to the court.
In the highly anticipated game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, Clark has been out for four consecutive matches. “I’ll miss this weekend’s game, but I’ll be evaluating how I feel daily, alongside the medical team,” Clark shared with the media on Thursday. “I believe I’ve made significant progress and feel good. There’s no reason to rush things; it’s just not worth it. After this weekend, I’ll get reassessed to better understand my return timeline.”
The first game between Indiana and Chicago saw Clark involved in some intense moments, including a controversial foul on Angel Reese. It was quite the scene, really. Though Clark is eager to be back, the injury is proving to be tricky.
Despite the setbacks, Clark is trying to turn her injury into a learning opportunity. “It’s been a test of patience for sure, but I’m trying to use this time to soak in the game from the sidelines. Coach Stephanie White has emphasized how valuable this experience can be,” she explained. “I’ve never really watched games from the bench for extended periods. It’s almost like watching on TV, except I’m right there, seeing the strategies unfold.”
In the four games she’s played this season, Clark has averaged 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, and 6.0 rebounds, even notching a triple-double and a double-double already. It’s clear she’s a vital player for her team.
