Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend gets backlash for partying with bottle girls

Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend seems to have had a little too much fun on his birthday.

Indiana Fever rookie boyfriend Connor McCurfee faced fierce backlash after photos of him partying among bikini-clad bottle girls at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas were leaked onto social media, with comedian Theo Vuong posting the video to his Instagram story.

Von captioned McCaffrey’s video, “Dress for the future you want.”

Clarke fans were quick to respond, championing the rookie phenom who had a successful weekend on the court, helping the Fever to back-to-back wins and improve to an 11-14 record.

“Get him away from CC now, she deserves better” User X @CClarkreport wrote:

“That’s not befitting of my queen,” another fan added.

“Who hasn’t gone out and had fun on his birthday? His friends surprised him. Very funny. Just have fun and make him laugh. Everyone should always make something out of nothing,” another person chimed in, defending McCaffrey.

Clark shared a birthday post for her boyfriend on Saturday after Friday’s 95-86 win over the Mercury, in which she recorded seven assists in the first quarter. Breaking a franchise record.

She posted a photo of the couple, who celebrated their one-year anniversary in April, embracing each other on the court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena during their college days at Iowa.

“Happy birthday Con! Celebrating you is easy 🙂 I am thankful to have someone as selfless and loving as you in my life.” Clark wrote“May this be the year you finally find a way to overtake me 😉 Love you always.”

“And I’ll make sure you keep winning the shooting contests!!!!!” McCaffrey, a former member of the University of Iowa men’s basketball team and son of University of Iowa men’s head coach Fran McCaffrey, responded.

On Sunday, the WNBA All-Star recorded 17 points, six assists and three rebounds in the Fever’s 81-74 win over the Minnesota Lynx.

The Iowa native is on the top of the WNBA All-Star team along with Chicago Sky rookie forward Angel Reese, who will play Team USA in Phoenix on Saturday before heading to the Paris Olympics.

McCaffrey also drew criticism in June after liking a negative post aimed at Reese, another front-runner for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
