The Rising Value of Caitlin Clark’s Memorabilia
Caitlin Clark’s importance in the sports world is hard to overstate.
Particularly in the realm of auctions, her impact is undeniable.
Although the Indiana Fever star is sidelined with a groin injury, she’s making headlines through the skyrocketing value of her memorabilia.
A notable item, her 2024 Panini Logoman rookie card with an autographed jersey patch, was auctioned for an impressive $317,000 this past Saturday.
The auction kicked off on July 11 at a modest $50,000 and concluded with a price more than six times that amount.
Goldin Auctions reported that after 21 bids, the price shot up to $100,000 within just 40 minutes.
Within two days, bids reached $180,000, a record until the $200,000 bid came in on July 30.
By August 9, the highest bidder was committed to a purchase price of $260,000 for one of three Logowoman cards issued in Panini America’s 2024 Rookie Royalty WNBA collection.
Last month, another of Clark’s Logoman cards set a record by selling for $660,000, making it the highest for women’s sports cards at public auctions, according to reports.
Clark has had a challenging season, playing only 13 games due to injuries, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.5 turnovers. Her shooting has struggled too, with a field goal percentage of 36.7% and three-point shooting at 27.9%.
Despite these challenges, the Fever have found ways to remain competitive, currently ranking fifth in the WNBA with an 18-14 record and still in the playoff race, awaiting Clark’s uncertain return.
