Caitlyn Jenner rips ‘narcissist’ Lia Thomas’ attempt to overturn policy on transgender athletes

Olympian and Fox News contributor Caitlyn Jenner condemned former college swimmer Leah Thomas’ attempt to challenge a World Aquatics ruling that directly affects transgender athletes.

This policy essentially restricts transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports. Although Thomas was born male, she identifies as female. In a recent edition of OutKick, “Gains for Girls” podcast, Jenner, who identifies as a transgender woman, described Thomas as a “nobody” and a “narcissist.”

“Leah Thomas is coming back. I honestly think she’s a narcissist. I think she just wants to be famous,” Jenner told Gaines. “I think she was practically a nobody.”

Mr Jenner claimed Mr Thomas had largely stayed out of the public eye in recent months and had only resurfaced for “publicity”.

“Well, we haven’t heard much about her in the last six, nine months since the Olympic Committee said, ‘You’re not eligible,'” Jenner added. “Now she’s trying to fight it. She’s doing it for publicity, she thinks. I don’t know any other reason she should be doing it.”

Jenner also claimed that Thomas was trying to replicate the attention he experienced after defeating Gaines in an intercollegiate game. Gaines is a Kentucky player who made his 12th appearance on All-America with the Wildcats.

“Nobody knew about her until she started kicking your ass and joining women’s swimming,” Jenner said.

“Then, all of a sudden, she’s on the cover of a magazine. And she’s just enduring all the pressure. She’s being clicked all over the place. She’s trying to figure out what this story is about. I’m gathering followers all over the place because I want to know what’s going on.”

Gaines pointed out that World Aquatics’ recently created “open category” had failed to attract swimmers. This category allows transgender women to participate in sporting events.
