Hill is comparing Williams to the guy who used to throw passes to him, and he’s not talking about Tua Tagovailoa. Hill says the Bears rookie reminds him of Patrick Mahomes. That’s some good company.

Williams has been compared to Mahomes since his time at Oklahoma, but now he’s beginning to prove that his “backyard” style of play can translate to the highest level of the game. After struggling in the first quarter, Williams started to pick up steam in the second quarter, first by linking up with fellow rookie Rome Odunze to make some big shots downfield.

He ended the drive with a spectacular scramble that scored a touchdown for the Bears. Watch as Williams steps into the pocket, evades pressure, and breaks containment to reach the end zone.
