of Chicago Bears After more than 100 years of wandering the NFL desert, a franchise quarterback may finally be in the cards. It took incredible luck for Chicago to land Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The process was astonishing. Houston Texans Win their final game of 2022. Williams will likely struggle as a rookie, but his natural talent is undeniable and he has the Bears poised for a long stretch of contention.
HBO's Hard Knocks has been following Bears training camp this season, and naturally, the spotlight is on Williams. With the pressure of being the franchise's savior on his shoulders, the young QB is learning the ropes in the NFL with cable TV viewers following his every move. Of course, HBO has a talented editing team at work, which helps make for great TV.
Williams' edit, featured in the fifth episode of Tuesday night's series, is one of Hard Knocks' best to date.
The editing is perfect and Williams' pitching isn't bad either.
The first of this series of passes was classic Caleb style: playing outside the pocket and darts on the run. Williams has already completed two passes in the preseason, something few Bears quarterbacks in history could ever dream of. His rookie year will be rough at times, but the good will outweigh the bad.
It was amazing to watch Williams take part in his first NFL training camp with the television cameras rolling, and no matter where he goes from here, NFL fans will always remember having the opportunity to watch the start of his journey on HBO.
