Ashley Byrd, 35, is suspected of being shot and killed by her estranged husband, Christopher Byrd, 39. Authorities believe that after Christopher shot Ashley, she committed suicide a short time later in her car.

The report said Ashley’s sister, Alison Cefon, said her sister was on a Zoom call with a co-worker when the horrifying incident occurred.
KNSD After the incident, I met with Mr. Sephon. “She was a beautiful soul, inside and out, in every way imaginable.”
Sephon said her sister was a kind and loving person who was devoted to her 9-year-old son.
“She would give anything for her son,” Sephon added.
“My sister, she was working from home. She was on a Zoom meeting. At that point, she thought someone was trying to break in and walked away and said, ‘Hold on a minute.’ said. Someone is trying to break into my house,” Sephon said.
However, after Bird disappeared from the computer screen, he never returned. Sephon said Ashley’s co-workers tried to contact her sisters’ mother, but when no one answered, her co-workers decided to call authorities.
“My mom called me just before 11 o’clock and was hysterical and said, ‘She’s gone.'” She passed away. ‘I cried, ‘Who’s gone?’ Who’s gone?’ ‘ She didn’t give me any details. She said, “Ashley.” She said Ashley is gone, I know it.”
Sephon continued:[w]”I knew Christopher was unstable, but I didn’t expect this.”
At the time of the incident, Sephon said the couple was in the process of divorce. However, Ashley reportedly denied any physical abuse.
“We asked her, ‘Do you feel like he’s physically abusive?’ ‘No, absolutely not,’ she said. She said, “He would never physically harm me.” It’s okay,” Sephon said.
“We think the divorce may have pushed him over the edge, along with the custody battle that was coming to an end,” Sephon said.
“I should have called her more. I talked to her every day, and I still wish I had had the chance to talk to her one last time. It didn’t have to be anything elaborate. Just say hi and tell her I love you and give her a hug. It’s just the little little things that I could have done every day but I couldn’t do yesterday. I just wanted to say how much I love her. I would like to tell her if I am there,” Sephon concluded.
