Gov. Gavin Newsom reportedly refuses to publish text messages and emails to Los Angeles city and county officials regarding the recent wildfires, claiming he is “exempt” from the publication.
As Breitbart news noted earlier this week, Karen Bass in Los Angeles deleted a text message about the Palisade fire. base I said At a local FOX affiliate KTTV-11 press conference: “My phone was automatically deleted after 30 days.”
The outlet also asked Newsom to text the mayor and Los Angeles County, which was denied.
Reporter: “We were told they wouldn't provide them and the governor's communication was exempt.”
Both Bass and Newsom claim to be acting within the law despite disregarding the spirit of the law of public records.
Newsom is busy making podcasts, and residents of his state are still struggling with the challenges of removing and rebuilding debris in the wake of a deadly wildfire.
