Cam Jordan’s Final Season with the Saints

Cam Jordan, a legendary figure for the New Orleans Saints, is gearing up for what he plans to be his final season in the NFL. After a productive 2025 campaign, ending with 10.5 sacks, Jordan has re-signed with the Saints for another year. Even though he hasn’t officially announced his retirement, he’s made it clear that this season will mark the end of his career.

“I’ve been thinking about this since my 10th year,” he recently shared during a phone call, expressing excitement about collaborating with fellow pass rushers at the Sac Summit in Las Vegas. It’s their third year being sponsored by Raising Canes, which Jordan highlighted positively.

Despite admitting that he feels physically better not participating in organized team activities (OTAs), he remains driven. A standout aspect of his game is his outspoken nature, not only in performance but also in expressing his thoughts.

Jordan, who’s observed the coaching approaches of first-year head coach Kellen Moore and defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, is well aware of his role in the Saints’ defense. He asserts he can adapt and undertake whatever duties the team requires, even if that means embracing a two-point stance, which had raised some questions about his technique.

With dreams still burning bright, he’s determined to contribute to the Saints, a team that, in his eyes, holds immense potential. “My ultimate goal? Win the Super Bowl,” he stated. Reflecting on childhood aspirations, he recognizes that success in football is often measured by championships, which he defines as the ultimate team dream.

Jordan has an impressive resume since being selected 24th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. Sticking with the Saints showed his loyalty, as he’s racked up 132 sacks—placing him 17th all-time. In his final season, he’s aiming for enough sacks to achieve eight consecutive seasons with double-digit numbers, which would land him in the top 10 for all time.

He undoubtedly believes his worthiness for the Hall of Fame is already established. It’s interesting to think about, though—will his impending Hall of Fame speech include the phrase “Super Bowl Champion”? That’s something he genuinely hopes for, because, really, if he’s thinking about being inducted into the Hall, what more could he possibly chase?

This offseason has prompted him to reflect deeply. Achievements have piled up—All-Pro, Pro Bowl selections, and last season was akin to another Pro Bowl effort. Now approaching 37, Jordan is poised to give everything he has for one last time before the metaphorical door closes for good.
