Serious Injury for Giants Rookie Running Back

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Scatterbo sustained a serious ankle injury during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Scatterbo, who found the end zone early on, attempted to catch a pass from Jackson Dart with just over eight minutes left in the second quarter. Unfortunately, the ball was out of reach, and while he tried to go down, his right ankle twisted awkwardly. It was pretty painful, I imagine.

The former standout from Arizona State seemed to know something was seriously wrong as he lay on the field. He was visibly in pain while the training staff rushed to assist him. Meanwhile, Dart was clearly frustrated, visibly expressing his emotions on the field. Also, Giants center John Michael Schmitz Jr. appeared shocked, with his head in his hands. Photos revealed Scatterbo’s ankle at an odd angle. He was eventually assisted onto a medical cart, giving a wave to the crowd as he was taken off the field.

New York selected Scatterbo in the fourth round of the draft. He quickly became the starting running back and generated excitement among fans, showing promise that perhaps this season wasn’t lost yet. Before the injury, he had accumulated 398 rushing yards, five touchdowns, and 23 receptions for 189 yards, adding another touchdown to that tally.

Scatterbo was instrumental in the game, scoring the Giants’ first touchdown against the Eagles. However, as the game progressed, the Eagles dominated, leading 21-10 at halftime.
