Camera work gave Yankees fans everywhere a Game 4 panic attack

Johnkensie Noel's deep fly ball in the bottom of the seventh inning disappeared deep into the night in Cleveland on Friday.

Or maybe the camera work would lead us to believe it.

In the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 4 of the ALCS, with the Yankees holding a 6-5 lead, Noel, who hit the game-tying home run on Thursday, hit a high, deep drive into the left field seats.

To those watching on television, the crack of the bat and the movement of the camera into the sky made it appear that the ball was flying deep into the left field seats.

Noel's fly ball was crushed.

Based on the camera work, the ball appeared to disappear.

However, the ball stayed in the park and Alex Verdugo caught it and was out.

Cleveland tied the game in the 8th inning, but the Yankees avoided trouble in the frame.

People in the social media world weren't too happy, feeling they had been duped.

“Johnkensie Noel's swing camera fake was really scary,” one user wrote on X.

“TBS and the camera crew were so hoping Noel's can of corn would be a home run,” WFAN's Sean Morash wrote.

“Heart attack angle with camera work,” another user wrote.

“This is the craziest camera work I've ever seen in my life,” chimed in another.

The Yankees took the lead in the top of the 9th inning against closer Emmanuel Clase and got a much-needed life save.
