Ongoing Search for Missing Texas Teen
Camila “Kami” Mendoza Olmos’ former boyfriend, Nathan Gonzalez, is actively participating in the search for the missing teenager and has expressed his determination to continue until she is found.
On Saturday, Gonzalez spoke to local reporters as he joined community members in searching for Olmos, who vanished around 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve. She was last seen outside her home in San Antonio.
“They’re going through a nightmare,” Gonzalez remarked about Olmos’ family during the ongoing search efforts.
He emphasized his commitment, saying he will not stop looking until she is found, referring to her as an incredibly “loving” person.
“We fully support her family during this difficult time. They need us right now, and they also need to feel the presence of the Lord. We believe that with faith, she will return home.”
Gonzalez described Olmos as someone who consistently puts others first and noted that this situation is quite unusual for her. “She’s a very loving person who would never expect something like this would happen,” he added.
Since her disappearance, he has used his social media to share happy memories of their relationship and post flyers encouraging others to join the search, which has now extended into its fifth day.
“I’m here all day… It’s been three or four days in a row, and we won’t stop until we find her,” he stated.
The breakup between Gonzalez and Olmos is reportedly amicable, and authorities are not investigating him as a suspect in her disappearance.
However, there’s ambiguity around whether Gonzalez has been officially recognized by law enforcement regarding any breakup details, and when they last saw each other remains unclear.
Authorities have expanded the search for Olmos into Mexico, as they are concerned she may have been taken across the border. Security footage from the night she went missing shows her, a Mexican national, looking for something in her car before abruptly disappearing.
Her family informed police that she only had her car keys and driver’s license when she left, leaving her cell phone behind on her bed.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar mentioned that investigators are alarmed about the possibility of Olmos being in “immediate danger,” and all potential scenarios, including kidnapping or voluntary disappearance, are being considered.
