The number of transgender musicians over President Donald Trump's transgender policy is growing despite the UK Supreme Court ruled that transgender women are legally not biological women.
Over the past few weeks, two Canadian singers have claimed they are afraid of canceling their concert appearances in the US and being “targeted” due to presidential policies.
Last month, Halifax Trans-Trans-Non-Binary Pop Artist T. Thomason announced that it is scheduled for May 16th from all road festivals held in Belfast, Maine. This is because the US government is angry at the Trump administration's policy of recognizing the two men and women and listening to discrimination stories.
“I just thought if it was happening to people with CIS, I was worried about what would happen to me,” Thomason explained.
In the video posted on InstagramThomason said he had cancelled the concert.
“This is obviously really upsetting and has a huge impact on all trans people from anywhere out of state in any profession,” he said. “But it has a huge ripple effect, especially in music in Canada.”
There is also a second singer cancel exterior. Toronto singer-songwriter Belzlasen, who identifies as a trance man, has cancelled six tour dates in the US because Larsen is upset by the visa rules that restrict applicants to the choice of men or women. Wired.
“I received an email from the American Federation of Musicians on Tuesday, saying that US immigrants are no longer able to apply for a visa because they only recognize the identification that corresponds to the sex assigned to them when they were born,” Larsen said. I wrote it On Instagram. “To put that very clearly, I'm a trance (and I have an M in my passport) so I can't tour in the US.”
Neither of these two performers appears to have commented on the UK Supreme Court's decision that transgender women are not qualified as biological women for equal purposes.
The country's highest court issued its ruling on April 16, in accordance with Scottish rules, forcing a 50/50 split on the gender of board members. The court's rules argue that trans women are not counted as biological women in such cases.
