Kirk Cameron and his sister Candace Cameron Bure shared their thoughts and insights about the importance and power of prayer.
Praying to God is an essential and necessary part of being a Christian. Consistent and honest communication is essential for any relationship to grow and flourish, including your relationship with the Creator of the universe. Through this act of communion with the Lord, we deepen our knowledge and wisdom of God.
in Clip posted to YouTube, Candace and Kirk explain when and how Christians should reach out to God and why it’s such an important act. Sometimes, as Candace points out, it’s not what you say during prayer that matters, but simply the act of praying.
“God doesn’t always answer prayer the way we want him to,” Candace said. “But it’s so important because it not only connects us to the Lord, it just says, ‘Lord, I depend on You no matter what, no matter what happens.’ That’s why.”
Also in this segment, Candice admits that while she enjoys praying and talking with God, she is not one to volunteer to pray out loud in large gatherings.
“I’m not one of those people who do spiritual superpowerful prayers orally,” she said. “For example, I love to pray, but I don’t stand up and say, ‘Let’s pray for you all,’ because I don’t have that much confidence in it.”
But despite her fears about praying in large gatherings, Candace says she has seen God answer prayers over and over again in her life.
“But I pray a lot, and I see God answering so many things, including the smallest things, the smallest things, and sometimes the very big things. ” she added.
Followers of Christ should pray daily. God listens to us and wants to know what is weighing on our hearts and minds.
Romans 12:12: “Rejoice in hope, be quiet in trouble, and always pray.”
