Candace Cameron Bure recently removed swimsuit photos from her Instagram after facing criticism from online trolls.

In response to a fan’s question, the “Full House” star (49) shared on Instagram Stories that she had indeed deleted the post. She explained she had posted pictures in a one-piece swimsuit, emphasizing it wasn’t a bikini, but wanted to enjoy the last days of summer. She mentioned it was meant to be fun and relaxing.

Reflecting on the backlash, she noted: “It wasn’t about swimsuits or my body,” though she added that the comments quickly turned towards her physical appearance.

She further stated, “It wasn’t worth it. I beat it.”

Bure posted a cheerful photo of herself in a bright yellow sundress, enjoying a sunny day. She’s also spoken previously about her strict diet, claiming that she hadn’t eaten fast food in two decades.

In 2018, she faced negative comments about her appearance, to which she replied, “If your 25-inch waist looks bigger to you… then you’re looking through the changed lens. Go well.”

She has been candid about her struggles with body image and eating disorders. In her 2010 memoir, “Remake Everything,” she discussed her challenges with weight management.

Years ago, she revealed to Entertainment Tonight how she had developed an “unhealthy relationship with food that turned to bulimia.” On her podcast this past April, she recounted “very vivid memories” from school years where she felt poorly about her body.

Reflecting on her time as a child actress, she admitted trying various diet plans since the age of 12, including Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, and Jenny Craig.

She explained that having a healthy relationship with food was challenging due to her history with eating disorders.

Additionally, she has shared insights regarding her faith, describing dreams that connected biblical stories to her experiences. In one instance, she compared herself to a character named Baram, who mistreats his mules. Bure expressed how she realized she had been harsh with her own body, saying, “I whipped my body,” emphasizing her critical internal dialogue about her appearance.
