When it comes to his personal success, the Washington Capitals' left wing alex ovechkin's biggest goal is to capture the legendary Wayne Gretzky. Highest score in historybut he made some pretty big history in the process, and he did it on Tuesday night.

And he's already reached that level in the scoring department, which officially confirms his membership in the 700/700 club. Ovechkin is the sixth player in NHL history to record 700 goals and 700 assists in a career.
The 39-year-old joins Gretzky, Jaromir Jagr, Phil Esposito, Gordie Howe and Marcel Dionne at the club.

It's crazy to me that Alex Ovechkin has been so elite in his career that he's currently a member of the 700/700 club. He will eventually break Wayne Gretzky's all-time scoring record, but he still one championship. This guy should have at least 2 or 3 titles, but I chalk that up to bad management at DC
But hey, at least he has one ring and is about to get the record of “The Great One” – still legendary.
