Two people who filmed and appeared in a gay porn video during a Senate hearing appear to have avoided legal repercussions.
The US Capitol Police (USCP) announced on Thursday that it would not charge the two men, saying it found “no evidence that a crime was committed.”
“At this time, we are finalizing our investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding the sex video recorded inside the Hart Senate Office Building on the morning of Wednesday, December 13,” USCP said in a statement. “After a comprehensive investigation and review of the potential charges, in consultation with federal and local prosecutors, there is no evidence at this time that a crime has been committed, despite the potential violation of Congressional policy.” It was determined that.”

Mace Cheropski was fired by her then-employer, Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.). Mese-Cheropski is unlikely to face further repercussions because she is no longer a Senate staffer.
The USCP statement continued:[a]The hearing room was closed to the public at the time, but the Congressional staff involved had access to it. The two persons of interest were not cooperative and did not meet the requirements for a possible crime.
“The Congressional staffer who has since resigned has exercised his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent and refused to speak with us. Investigators will be happy to consider any new evidence that comes to light.” The police continued.
Before his dismissal was made public, Mace-Cheropsky posted a statement on his LinkedIn profile.
“These are difficult times for me because I have been attacked for wanting to pursue a political agenda,” he claimed. “While some of my actions in the past have shown a lack of judgment, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace. Any attempt to do so is a fabrication,” he continued, “and I intend to consider what legal options are available to me in these matters.”
