One person is in custody after an unauthorized vehicle crashed into the outer gates of the White House complex late Monday afternoon.
U.S. Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the vehicle crashed into the outer gate around 6 p.m.

Guglielmi said the driver has been arrested and the USSS is investigating the cause and circumstances of the accident.

He added that traffic would also be affected at 15th Street and Pennsylvania and adjacent intersections.
Drivers were told to find alternative routes. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and assisted law enforcement with the investigation. FOX5 reported.
