Cardano Achieves Record Speed for Governance Vote: Details

Cardano Hits New Governance Milestone

Cardano has achieved a significant governance milestone with its fastest-ever proposal approved by DReps. The Cardano Critical Integrations Budget proposal surpassed the 50% approval threshold in under two days after it was submitted, marking a record for the platform.

Jaromir Tesar, a Cardano DRep and SPO, noted this accomplishment on social media. On November 27, the community was presented with a new budget proposal aimed at garnering feedback. This proposal seeks to allocate ADA 70 million from the Treasury to fund essential integrations within the ecosystem.

The proposal’s swift approval showcases a collaboration among Input Output, EMURGO, Cardano Foundation, Intersect, and Midnight Foundation, making it the first joint initiative from these organizations.

Cardano operates under a decentralized governance model, ensuring that all ADA holders have a say. The Chang hard fork was a significant two-part upgrade that brought decentralized governance to the Cardano blockchain, which is a core aspect of the Voltaire era.

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, recently shared on X that “some very exciting things are going to happen.” He described Cardano as a “sleeping giant” that’s beginning to awaken.

On December 8, the Midnight project will launch its NIGHT token as a Cardano native asset. The distribution and trading of this token will start on that date, available on the Cardano DEX and select exchanges.

The Cardano Critical Integrations Budget is designed to lay a foundation for growth moving into 2026. It aims to create a fund dedicated to integrating key infrastructure elements, such as Tier 1 stablecoins, institutional custody solutions, on-chain analytics, cross-chain bridges, and recognized pricing oracles.
